"We've Got Tonight" (originally titled "We've Got Tonite") is a 1978 song written by American heartland rocker Bob Seger, off his album Stranger in Town. A melodic, piano-based seduction ballad, it was a hit single for Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, reaching number 13 on the US pop charts and becoming a mainstay of adult contemporary radio airplay ever since. Seger's recording was not an immediate hit in the UK, reaching number 41 there, but made it to number 22 during a 1995 re-release. In 1983, country-pop star Kenny Rogers recorded the song as a duet with Sheena Easton, and made it the title track of his album We've Got Tonight. This time it was a huge crossover hit in the US, reaching number one on the Billboard Country Singles chart, number six on the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart, and number two on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. It also reached the top 30 in the United Kingdom. Irish singer Ronan Keating featuring British star Lulu released their duet version in 2002. This reached number four on the UK Singles Chart and also did well in a number of countries in Europe. In 2002 he also released a German version with German actress and pop singer Jeanette Biedermann peaked at number 7 in Germany and number 6 in Austria and an Italian version with the Italian singer Giorgia. Almost Over You Lyrics by Sheena Easton I saw an old friend of ours today she asked about you I didn't quite know what to say heard you've been making the rounds 'round here while i've been trying to make tears disappear...... Now i'm almost over you i've almost shook these blues so when you come back around after painting the town, you'll see i'm almost over you........ You're such a sly one with your cold, cold heart maybe leaving came easy but it tore me apart time heals all wounds, they say and I should know 'cause it seems like forever but i'm letting you go..... Now i'm almost over you i've almost shook these blues so when you come back around after painting the town, you'll see i'm almost over you..... I can forgive you and soon i'll forget all those shattered dreams although you've left me with nothing to show full of misery.... Now i'm almost over you i've almost shook these blues so when you come back around after painting the town, you'll see i'm almost over you....... SHEENA EASTON BIOGRAPHY It absolutely, indisputably is. In fact, we'd go so far as to say that Sheena Easton's first British album release in six long years is a parquet-igniting, Spandex-shrinking, glitterball-exploding, Saturday night fever-inducing, no-prisoners-taken, all-out disco monster - the kind of record that ricochets you back in time, shakes you forcibly by the shoulders, and reminds you in no uncertain terms just what fun (and truly great singing) is all about. Sheena Easton - Morning Train I wake up every mornin', I stumble out of bed Stretchin' and yawnin', another day ahead It seems to last forever, and time goes slowly by Till babe and me's together, then it starts to fly 'Cause the moment that he's with me, time can take a flight The moment that he's with me, everything's alright Night time is the right time, we make love Then it's his and my time, we take off Chorus: My baby takes the morning train, he works from nine till five and then He takes another home again to find me waitin' for him chorus He takes me to a movie, or to a restaurant, to go Slow dancing, anything I want Only when he's with me, I catch light Only when he gives me, makes me feel alright chorus All day I think of him, dreamin' of him constantly I'm crazy mad for him, and he's crazy mad for me When he steps off that train, I'm makin' a fool, a fight Work all day to earn his pay, so we can play all night chorus (chorus repeats out) He's always on that morning train He works so hard To find me waiting for him...

1981) 1980s pop diva Sheena Easton was born Sheena Shirley Orr in Bellshill, Scotland on April 27, 1959. Inspired to pursue a singing career after seeing Barbra Streisand in The Way We Were, she later attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama while moonlighting with the group Something Else. Exposure on the BBC television production The Big Time: Pop Singer not only resulted in a record deal with EMI but also pushed Easton's 1980 debut singles, "Modern Girl" and "9 to 5," into the UK Top Ten, and she became the first female artist to score two simultaneous Top Ten hits. Her self-titled debut LP followed in 1981, while "9 to 5" was reissued in America under the title "Morning Train" to avoid confusion with Dolly Parton's recent hit of the same name; regardless, the single topped the US pop charts, with "Modern Girl" cracking the Top 20 a few months later. After earning a Grammy as Best New Artist, Easton was tapped to sing the title theme of the latest James Bond film, For Your Eyes Only; in 1983, she duetted with Kenny Rogers on the smash "We've Got Tonight," returning to the Top Ten later that year with "Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair." However, with 1984's A Private Affair, Easton retooled her squeaky clean image, following the sassy "Strut" with the salacious "Sugar Walls," written and produced by one Alexander Nevermind (aka Prince, to whose "U Got the Look" she contributed vocals in 1987). She followed a stint as Don Johnson's ill-fated TV wife on ...
